For Healing and Wellness

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) means universal life force or God energy. It is a gentle non-invasive healing and wellness therapy used by practitioners who have been "attuned" to the Reiki energy by a Reiki Master.

Practitioners become transmitters of the Reiki energy by placing their hands on specific areas of a person's body using special hand positions.  The balancing of energies can work on a physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional level, depending on the client's needs.  Many people use Reiki simply for stress relief and deep relaxation.  Others say it helps to relieve pain.

While no claims are made that Reiki can cure chronic conditions, many people have found physical and psychological relief in addition to an enhanced quality of life.

Major hospitals and healthcare professionals around the world now recognize the benefits of Reiki as more importance is placed on the mind-body link to our physical, emotional, and mental health.  While traditional medicine describes our physical system in terms of chemistry, it is now understood that for a chemical action to take place a change in the electromagnetic energy of the body must occur. A qualified Reiki practitioner has been taught to harness universal life force or God energy to benefit their clients. Reiki is religiously neutral- it is a healing practice not a religious practice.

• Reiki can be preformed on people and animals through hands-on therapy, hands-off therapy or distance therapy.

• Reiki is preformed while a client is fully clothed lying down or seated with shoes off.

• Reiki practitioners do not diagnosis any particular ailments or conditions.

• Reiki practitioners do not need to know what the health issue is as the Reiki energy will go to the area of the body that needs it.

• Reiki can be used in conjunction with Western medical medicine but it is not a substitute for it.

• You do not have to believe in Reiki for it to work.  You just need to give permission to have it done.
